Background and Ethos
ECG was established on the back of over 15 years of experience in professional practice in order to provide clients with honest, effective and pragmatic solutions in the geotechnical, environmental and built environment sectors.
We believe that technical challenges require creative solutions and that no two sites are the same. We charge according to the value of our services rather than on how long it takes and believe that it is only worth doing something if it is done well.
Even the best consultants in their field are nothing without their clients and we insist on maintaining a level of service that reflects our focus on you, our client. We believe that a Client - Consultant relationship should be collaborative with the joint aim of ensuring the success of a project by considering all angles.
We pride ourselves on our honesty and professional integrity and never undertake or include cost elements within our projects which are not considered necessary and justified.
David Webster

David is a Chartered Geologist and Chartered Scientist with over 15 years of industry experience specialising in ground investigation, geotechnical design and geo-environmental consultancy.
His primary focus is helping clients understand the nature of, and risks associated with, the land they are either looking to acquire, invest in or develop. He works with individuals ranging from Local Authorities, architects, planners, private investors, house builders and insurance / legal professionals.
Whether it is understanding the impact of historical contamination as part of a land valuation, stabilising a landslide or designing suitable foundations for a house or even a wind turbine, David is likely to be able to help. Over nearly two decades in practice, David has built an extensive network of experienced and Chartered associates in allied fields, including structural engineers, project managers and consultants from which to draw from to find pragmatic and practical solutions.
